Fire prevention and emergency management
CSIA supports companies, organisations and building managers in handling fire-safety obligations. The service includes assessing the applicable obligations, preparing technical applications and documents, drafting emergency plans and layouts, supporting the management of evacuation procedures and assisting buildings or activities subject to specific fire-safety provisions.
What the service includes
Fire prevention covers the full set of activities aimed at preventing risk and avoiding the outbreak of fires. In the workplace, the Employer is required to draw up a risk assessment that also includes the assessment and prevention of fire risk.
For specific activities it may be necessary to obtain the Fire Prevention Certificate (CPI), which generally involves a design phase, the carrying out of any upgrading works and the completion of the procedure through to final certification. The CPI must be renewed periodically.
It is not always obvious whether an activity is subject to this obligation. It is important to rely on a technician able to carry out a correct applicability assessment.
Under D.Lgs. 81/08 and the Ministerial Decree of 02/09/2021, the Employer must adopt emergency measures to be implemented for firefighting and measures for evacuating workers in the event of serious and immediate danger.
It is necessary to set up correct, precise and pre-planned procedures, so as to inform all staff working at the company premises, guests and people who may also occasionally be present within the workplace.
The Operational Emergency Plan is an integral part of the Risk Assessment Document and must be accompanied by specific evacuation layouts to be displayed in the workplace.
Residential buildings with a firefighting height of over 24 metres must be designed and managed so as to allow rapid and safe evacuation in the event of fire and to comply with the applicable regulations. Responsibility for applying the management obligations lies with the building manager.
CSIA offers an assistance service for applying the obligations arising from the regulations and for preparing the mandatory documentation.
Documents, procedures and responsibilities under control
Fire safety requires correct technical assessments, up-to-date documentation and procedures that are genuinely applicable. CSIA's support makes it possible to identify the applicable obligations, prepare the necessary documents and organise emergency management in a clear way consistent with the company or condominium context.
